Hvad skjuler du?

The children's concert performance “Hvad skjuler du?” (What are you hiding?) is based on house artist Fredy Clue's work creating Bäckadräkten, Sweden's first folk costume for everyone. On stage we meet Fredy Clue and Julia Bengtson, two skilled professional folk musicians who teach, in an open and playful way, the cultural treasure the folk costume carries.

The children are invited to join in, ask questions and talk about a life in colour, LGBTQIA+ and what our cultural heritage really is and what it means to us. Starting from Bäckadräkten and the folk music, in the meeting between tradition and queerness, Fredy, Julia and the children explore how traditions can evolve and adapt to a world with room for difference and quirks, where everyone gets to belong.

The performance is a strong starting point for dialogue and reflection about people's differences and, even more importantly, similarities. It is made for children aged 6 to 13.

The performance itself lasts about 35 minutes and is in Swedish, with Danish words along the way. Afterwards, children and adults can join a decoration workshop. The performance and workshop together last about 90 minutes. Everyone is welcome, and the day is for the whole family.
