At FOLK, Skidtspil present original pieces written by different members of the ensemble. Nordic-inspired tunes and arrangements range from gentle and reflective to lively and danceable.

Skidtspil is a large folk ensemble based in Aarhus, named after a good old folk-music playing technique. They mainly play Nordic folk music, with a few tunes from Scotland and Ireland, and plenty of original material.

The ensemble brings together percussion, fiddles, accordion, flute, guitar, piano, bass and mandolin, and can perform in both large and small line-ups. Their repertoire ranges from beautiful modern compositions to lively tunes made for dancing.
