A warm reunion with musical playmates Nuala Kennedy (flute and vocals) from County Louth and Eamon O’Leary (guitar and vocals) from Dublin. They last visited Aarhus in 2023, and now they return for the warm-up day.
The two have played together since 2011, when Nuala moved to New York, where Eamon has lived for more than 20 years. There they found a shared love of traditional Irish and Scottish music and of arranging and writing new songs.
Nuala and Eamon are seasoned musicians who have toured far and wide, from large European and North American festivals to small acoustic venues in far-flung places such as Newfoundland, Alaska and up by the Arctic Circle. They are known for their instrumental playing and beautiful vocal harmonies, and for a broad repertoire of both traditional and newly written songs about love and courtship, work and ritual, emigration and war.
The concert belongs to the Wednesday warm-up day and is arranged by Roots Aarhus. The musicians also lead a workshop in Irish songs earlier in the evening.
