On Saturday evening, Aarhus Folk Festival invites you to a folk ball in Stakladen. You are invited straight onto the dance floor, where traditional dances become a social and inclusive experience across ages and levels of experience. Everyone is welcome.
KOM FOLK DANS is organised in collaboration with Nordisk Dans and Studenterhus Aarhus. Nordisk Dans lead the evening's short beginners' workshop, so you can join in even if you have never danced before. Spillemandslauget Østjyderne and Floating Sofa Quartet play for the ball.
Studenterhus Aarhus is a cultural centre and meeting place that brings students and the city's cultural life together through concerts, events and community.
Spillemandslauget Østjyderne play traditional Danish and Nordic dance music with a large, mixed ensemble. Floating Sofa Quartet bring together fiddle, accordion, flute, bagpipes and double bass in a repertoire of old Nordic tunes and original compositions.
