Roots Aarhus invites you to Slow Session on the second floor at Waxies. We play tunes from the pub’s Irish session, starting slowly and gradually picking up the pace as the melodies become familiar.

The workshop is for anyone who wants to learn Irish tunes on a melody instrument, slowly and from the beginning. If you play a chord instrument and would like to try playing the melody, you are welcome too. You can also accompany the others as the pace picks up.

We mainly learn by ear. Sheet music for some tunes will be available to take home and practise. You are welcome to suggest tunes to work on, and we will see what is possible.

Louise has played traditional Irish music since her early twenties and taken part in many sessions and summer schools in Ireland. Each year she helps lead the Irish music camp on Omø, where dance is also taught.
